Why do you have multi-aged classroom?
All children enter preschool with a different set of experiences, knowledge and skills. The multi-age classroom allows each child to learn at his or her individual readiness, ability and interest level, not by his or her age. Our classroom includes children of various levels of social and intellectual maturity. The learning environment is specially designed to meet the needs of its students. This includes active learning experiences, varied instructional strategies, multi-leveled integrated curriculum, learning centers and a balance between teacher-directed and child-directed activities.
In a multi-age classroom, children are presented with activities on their level. This way, students are always given a change to develop new skills. There is no need to hold back any child so that others may catch up. This allows students to develop confidence and a love for learning while preparing them to for future academic success.
